Materials

Glass, Metal, Cardboard, Papier-mâché

Description

This deer head is built from assembled pieces inspired by origami, creating an angular and open structure. The entire piece, including the antlers, is made of papier-mâché, applied in multiple layers to provide both strength and lightness. Some areas are intentionally left open, allowing a view into the interior of the sculpture and creating depth and transparency. The black acrylic paint is applied in layers to produce a raw, slightly industrial metallic effect, with subtle texture variations that catch the light. The antlers, also made of papier-mâché, are painted in gold, creating a strong contrast with the head and immediately drawing attention. The sculpture is mounted directly onto glass, within a black metal frame, giving the impression that it floats and emerges from its surface.
